At least 34 senior officers of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) have undergone a surprise drug testing at the BFP National Headquarters, Tuesday.

BFP Officer-in-Charge CSUPT Rodrigo R. Abrazaldo initiated on the said activity to show the agency’s support towards President Rodrigo Duterte’s (PRD) campaign for Anti-Illegal drugs which is rampant even among law enforcers.

“We are one with PRD in curbing the use of illegal drugs in the country, that is why this move aims to cleanse the rank, just like what they are doing in the PNP and other uniformed services as well as to weed out those personnel involved in the use of these dangerous drugs, “ CSUPT Abrazaldo said.
“This is just the start; we will fight against illegal drugs along with the tri-bureau and ensure the public that we are performing our mandated duties and responsibilities with utmost dedication and sincerity,” he added.
On the other hand, the event was coincidental to the 1st Semester Command Conference also being held in the same venue and was attended by all the Regional Directors and key officers of the BFP.
A private diagnostic team administered the drug testing and results of the said test will be available the next day.###
