The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) promoted thirteen (13) fire officials into the rank of Senior Superintendent, Wednesday afternoon.

DILG Undersecretary Atty. Peter Irving C. Corvera administered the oath taking of the newly-promoted officials in a ceremony held at DILG-NAPOLCOM Center, Quezon City.

The said promoted personnel have been in the fire service for many years and have already proven their worth as committed and dependable public servants.

Newly appointed BFP Fire Director Ariel A Barayugaga, on the other hand extends his congratulations to the promoted fire officers and encouraged them to be more dedicated in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities.

Barayuga also took his oath for a ‘two-star general’ rank earlier this morning in a separate ceremony administered by DILG Secretary Mar Roxas at the Philippine National Police General Headquarters, Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Barayuga is the 8th BFP Chief appointed from the time RA 6975, DILG Act of 1990 was enacted, while all others were appointed as Officer-in-Charge. He will still serve the BFP for more than one year prior to his mandatory retirement on April 2016.
