The Bureau of Fire Protection Emergency Medical Services extended medical assistance to the 2014 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship held last week. Two BFP medical teams were deployed in two separate venues at SM Mall of Asia and Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
BFP personnel from Pasay City Fire Station and Manila Fire District composed the medical teams who assisted in monitoring the safety, health and physical conditions of the players during practice and championship games. Two ambulances of the Bureau were on standby in case of emergency.
There were at least 500 officials, players and guests to the 2014 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship who represented the delegations of 16 countries in Asia.
Aside from ensuring the safety of the public against fire, BFP continues to perform one of its mandates of providing medical and emergency services to the public. The Fire Bureau is gratified given the opportunity to be part of the event to be of service to other people especially to the participants of the competition who came from other countries.
