The Bureau of Fire Protection intensifies the conduct of fire safety and awareness campaign this Fire Prevention Month. BFP personnel in the different parts of the country continue to reach out to the public, especially in the barangay level, to provide fire prevention information and fire safety consciousness to the community through its Barangay Ugnayan Program.

Last Sunday, BFP-NHQ personnel, headed by Directorate for Fire Safety and Prevention Officer-in-Charge SSUPT IGMEDIO U BONDOC, conducted Barangay Ugnayan at Brgy. Damayang Lagi in Quezon City where at least 150 constituents attended. During the activity, firefighters discussed safety reminders and preventive measures to avoid fire occurrence at home.

Fire excludes no one – rich or poor, even young and old can be a victim. Negligence at home is one of the common causes of fire that is why participants were reminded about the importance of practicing awareness among each and every member of the family (from the youngest to the oldest).

Solane Corporation, Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers and Philippine Red Cross joined the BFP in the said activity. They conducted lectures on First-Aid, LPG and electrical fire safety.
