In its on-going initiative to strengthen information dissemination at all levels of the organization, and to further support activities at regional and local stations, the office of the Public Information Services of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) National Headquarters travelled all the way to Tacloban City last May 31, 2014 for monitoring and assessment of the public information projects. BFP-NHQ PIS Deputy Chief SINSP NOEL A GAGALAC, headed the team that visited fire stations in different key cities in the said Regions.
SINSP GAGALAC, together with SINSP CESAR PATROCINIO JR and FO3 Arlene DN Mecinas, had a dialogue with the PIS chiefs and staffs of various cities around the country to identify problems and concerns on their public information system.
During the visit, different audio-visual materials were presented to fire station personnel which they can use during information dissemination campaigns to barangays, schools, public and private organizations. PIS Assessment Team shared key points, instructions and insights on how to strengthen public relations and media mileage.
Concerned personnel were required to answer an evaluation sheet which will further distinguish the urgent and significant necessities of their station in order to massively and effectively conduct information drives.
The said travel aims to identify and address the concerns of different fire stations to enhance the public information services of the Bureau and cope up with the demand of modern technology.
The travel will continue to visit other fire stations nationwide.
At present, BFP Public Information Services considers upgrading and adopting modern strategies to gain access and create better rapport to quad media which is now being introduced to different fire stations as the widest and effective medium for fire safety education and BFP image building.
