On March 5, 2014, Ash Wednesday marks the start of the Lenten season. All BFP Catholics headed by the BFP Officer-In-Charge, CSUPT CARLITO S ROMERO, commemorated the Ash Wednesday and received a mark of ashes on their forehead as a reminder of their spiritual duty during Lenten season and as a sign of repentance to God.
Masses held at two different hours (12:00NN and 3:00PM) at the Bureau of Fire Protection, National Headquarters, Lobby Area, spearheaded by the BFP Chief Chaplain, REV FR (CINSP) RANDY C BALUSO, T’Ocarm.
Lent is a forty-day period of repentance and conversion to redirect our attention to Jesus and to his saving mysteries. The Chief Chaplain encourage all BFP Catholics to spend periods of recollection, retreat and spiritual enhancement among officers and personnel within their care.
