The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) promoted its 60 officials to the next higher rank pursuant to Personnel Selection and Promotions Board Resolution No 2015-002 dated 18 February 2015 and Medical/Dental Board Resolution No 2015-P-01 dated 16 February 2015.
The said BFP officials from different regions took their oath in a simple ceremony held February 20, 2015, 02:00 p.m., at the BFP National Headquarters in Quezon City.
Four of them were promoted from the rank of Fire Chief Inspector (Major) to Fire Superintendent (Colonel); 9 Fire Senior Inspectors (Captain) to Fire Chief Inspectors; 20 Fire Inspectors (Lieutenant) to Fire Senior Inspectors; and 27 Senior Fire Officers who are now Inspectors. The newly promoted personnel have been in the fire service for many years and have already proven their worth as committed and reliable public servants.
BFP Officer-in-Charge CSUPT ARIEL A BARAYUGA administered the oath taking of the newly-promoted personnel after OIC, Directorate for Personnel SUPT LINDY C LAUZON read the Bureau Orders indicating their names and rank.
The new BFP Deputy Chief for Administration CSUPT RODRIGO R ABRAZALDO, Deputy Chief for Operations CSUPT LORENZO S DE GUIA, and Chief Directorial Staff SSUPT LOUIE S PURACAN were also present in the pinning of ranks.
CSUPT BARAYUGA said as he congratulates the newly promoted personnel, “You all deserve to be promoted to the next higher rank, and with that added rank comes a greater responsibility for you to perform your duties with utmost dedication” he said.
He further reiterated that the said promotion was part of his thrust to boost the morale and continuously recognize the performance of those deserving BFP personnel which will surely result to the improvement of the Fire Bureau’s public safety services.
