Mayor Alvarez expressed his gratitude to the DILG and BFP for providing their town a fire truck that will greatly help them in fire suppression. This is a valuable addition to the fire suppression capabilities of the town, Alvarez said, gaining additional protection for the sprawling sugarcane plantations in the area. Ilog has a growing population of about 60,000.

The firetruck was donated to the Bureau of Fire Protection by the Korea Federation of Firefighters’ Association – South Korea. It is a 2,500-gallon Samil pump housed in a KIA chassis, with two sets of Personal Protective Equipment, four hoses, and three hose nozzles. The value of the said equipment is estimated at about 10 million pesos.
